GP Training programme concluded

Updated: Sep 8

The General Practice (GP) surgeries training programme that began on the 13th of February 2024 has finally concluded!

The recent SEL GP Training programme brought together GPs, researchers, and innovators to explore the future of primary care.

Dr. Prashant Jha opened the session with insights on affordable medical technologies for primary care, followed by Dr. Jamie Scuffell’s presentation on using machine learning for appointment patterning and translating Lambeth DataNet evidence to support the Latin American community.

Group discussions centered on the theme of “Precision personalised population health”, focusing on integrating health systems, proactive prevention, and digital health, as well as exploring new models of healthcare delivery.

Looking ahead, participants shared ideas for future seminars and collaborations, including disruptive innovation in primary care, integrating research with teaching and practice, building capacity for early career researchers, and harnessing data science to save lives.

The programme highlighted the importance of innovation, collaboration, and academic integration in shaping the next generation of general practice.
